Dwane and Doris with Valerie and their grandson, Brennen.
The fat guy that Dwane has a grip on is the author of this blog. Somehow, he got into the picture.
Dwane grew up to have his own family. Left of him is his Grandmother Oma. To his right, was his mother Della Rogers.
The little one is Valerie Rogers. Check out Dwane's suit. People actually dressed that way. And what's with the hair style, Dwane?
The Second World War was over and things were looking up.
America was a super power now with an atomic bomb or two, and no one dared challenge the Empire.
This one photo was taken by Don Rogers on August 1945 in Okinawa when the Japanese Empire surrendered officially to the American Empire. It must have been an exciting time.
Daddy came home and found out his kid wondered if he was ever going to leave. Not a good start for a father coming home from war, but that's how it started.
Life went on as happily as it could. Dwane was happy looking. He was, really.
Things looked promising. They were promising.
To make things easier, emotionally, for Della, she finally gave birth to a little boy, Dwane (L)ucky Rogers. Those who know Dwane know his real middle name.
Dwane was born in Maywood, Los Angeles County, in California on Dec 6, 1943. Ain't he a cute thing?
With Don Rogers gone to war, Della had to make the best of it on her own. She was carrying a child while Daddy was off fighting the Nasties in Europe.
Lloyd didn't care for his name so he went by his middle name, Donald, or Don. He joined the Army to become a fighter pilot and probably killed a bunch of men over France. Just guessing, since this comes from Dwane's memory.
Mom and Dad, otherwise known as Della and Lloyd Donald Rogers. This was taken in 1940. Ah, love was in the air as two young kids decided to try and make a life for one another. See how happy they were?
It is a rare treat when someone you really care about finally reveals their past, even if it had to come through a step sister. Dwane insists he is an only child. Biologically, he is correct. The following are pictures that were given to Dwane, quickly salvaged from the trash can before being hauled off to the junk heap. To Dwane's family which he started, whether he wants to admit it or not, here are some pictures that explain why you are the way you are now, why you look the way you look, and probably why you act the way you act now.
